ويلتقي البرتغال مع نظيره غانا على ملعب “974” بالعاصمة القطرية الدوحة، في الجولة الأولى من دور المجموعات للمونديال.

Andrew Strauss’s captaincy career comes full circle when the first Test gets underway on Thursday morning, as he resumes his rivalry with the team he took on while standing in for Andrew Flintoff in the tempestuous summer of 2006.And yet, when asked to recall his first series in charge, Strauss’s initial reaction was to draw a blank. “My memories were that … I can’t remember,” he said – a curious yet understandable response to a series that ought, by rights, to have been one of the proudest moments of his career, but instead was marred by controversy and later overshadowed by personal disappointment.”It was a bit of a baptism of fire for me,” he said. “We played the better cricket throughout the series and deserved to win, but no-one wanted to see the way it finished. We obviously played very well at Old Trafford to win by an innings, and we fought hard at Headingley to get another victory, but it was all over-ridden by what happened at The Oval.”The Oval flashpoint came on the third afternoon, when umpire Darrell Hair awarded England five penalty runs after inspecting the ball and inferring that Pakistan were guilty of ball-tampering. Inzamam-ul-Haq’s reaction was to keep his team in the dressing-room after the tea interval, a decision that prompted the umpires to award the match to England.”If I had been the full-time captain of England at the time, maybe I would have been a bit more pro-active about talking to Inzamam about whether we could get back on the pitch,” said Strauss. “By the time I did have the opportunity to sit down with them, Inzamam and the umpires were so firmly entrenched in their points of view that it became very clear very quickly that there was no way to get back on that field.”Aside from a one-off reappearance as Michael Vaughan’s deputy the following summer, that would prove to be Strauss’s last taste of the captaincy for two-and-a-half years. He deserved his chance, and though we got heavily beaten in Australia, that would have happened whoever was captain.”

ويستفيد كل نادٍ بحوالي 10 آلاف دولار أمريكي عن كل يوم يظل فيه أحد لاعبيه مع منتخبه الوطني في بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، بما في ذلك أيام التحضيرات الرسمية، بشرط أن يكون اللاعب قد لعب لهذا النادي في آخر سنتين سابقتين للمونديال.

وفي هذا الإطار، علم “بطولات أن الحد الأدنى الذي سيحصل عليه الأهلي نظيره مشاركة علي معلول على نحو 170 ألف دولار، على أن يزيد هذا المبلغ إذا تمكن منتخب تونس من عبور دور المجموعات.

ويحصل الأهلي أيضًا على حوالي 105 آلاف دولار مقابل مشاركة بدر بانون في دور المجموعات، ويزيد المبلغ حال نجاح المغرب في التأهل للمرحلة التالية.

The performances of Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer in particular against Australia suggest England will be in for a tough challenge over the next four weeks in what is their last Test action before the Ashes.Salman Butt, the Pakistan captain, has said his new-ball pair are the best in the world and when they are supplemented by Umar Gul and Danish Kaniera they are certainly a potent combination. But Collingwood, who was rested from the series against Bangladesh earlier in the season, doesn’t buy into those sorts of judgments although he is well aware that England’s batsmen can’t afford to be off their game.Since completing the Test series against South Africa in January – where the express pace of Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel was too much handle at the Wanderers as the hosts leveled the series – England have played four Tests against Bangladesh who, despite making them toil at times for victory, didn’t pose anything like the threat of what they are about to face.”I don’t want to go overboard on ‘these guys are the best thing since sliced bread’ – or Wasim Akram, or this, that and the other,” Collingwood told reporters at Loughborough. “If we can get through those periods where it can be really tricky, I think we can get on top of them.”I think they have got a lot of talent. But to say they’re the number one bowling attack in the world I would say was over the mark. They have come up in conditions recently where it’s done a fair bit.”They’re a good outfit. Certainly, the bowling looks very strong,” he added. “They have had conditions where it has swung around quite a bit – and obviously, they come at different angles. There is a lot for us to think about there. But at the same time, we’ve got a lot of strengths like that ourselves with the way we swing the ball.”The performance that made everyone really sit up and take notice was when Pakistan skittled Australia for 88 on the opening day at Headingley to set up their series-leveling three-wicket victory. Ricky Ponting had the chance to give his attack first use of the conditions yet gambled on batting first, but Collingwood believes Australia’s attack would have caused similar damage.”I guess if they [Australia] got those same conditions on the first day they would have caused a lot of problems,” he said. “Pakistan have got skill, and we’re going to have to be very careful. But I still think we can handle what they’re going to throw at us.”How England cope against Pakistan’s bowling will provide a good gauge of where they stand in preparation for the Ashes at the end of November. They have made steady progression over the last 12 months – winning the Ashes last summer and drawing in South Africa – but they will want to board the plane to Australia on the back of a strong performance in this series.”Everybody in the team is very confident that we can do it this time round,” Collingwood said. “That’s genuine confidence. We’ve had a good 18 months. We’ve had the building blocks, continued to grow and get things right.”I think we’re ready. It really has come at a time when we can say we’ll be as ready as we can ever be. We’ve just got to make sure in these next two months we continue in that same manner.”

وأضافت: “مع الأخذ في الاعتبار قرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم 22.31 بشأن فرض عقوبات على إيران، والتورط المزعوم لها في العدوان العسكري للاتحاد الروسي على أوكرانيا، نناشد فيفا باقتراح للنظر في استبعاد المنتخب الإيراني من كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2022”.

يأتي هذا النداء بعد أيام فقط من دعوة الرئيس التنفيذي لنادي شاختار دونيتسك سيرجي بالكين لإقصاء إيران واستبدالها بأوكرانيا في بطولة هذا العام.

تعرضت العاصمة الأوكرانية كييف لقصف بطائرات بدون طيار من طراز “كاميكازي” إيرانية الصنع من قِبل الجيش الروسي في وقت سابق من هذا الشهر.

وزعم الرئيس فولوديمير زيلينسكي أن 7 طائرات مسيرة من هذا القبيل قد أُسقطت، بينما قالت الولايات المتحدة إن إيران نشرت خبراء عسكريين في شبه جزيرة القرم التي تحتلها روسيا.

غرد بالكين ردًا على هجمات الطائرات بدون طيار الأسبوع الماضي، حيث كتب: “بينما ستستمتع القيادة الإيرانية بمشاهدة منتخبها الوطني في كأس العالم، فإن الأوكرانيين سيقتلون بطائرات بدون طيار إيرانية وصواريخ إيرانية”.

وأضاف: “لقد هاجم ما يقرب من 250 طائرة بدون طيار مدنًا هادئة في أوكرانيا، تم إنتاج كل واحد منهم وتسليمها من قبل السلطات الإيرانية”.

وواصل: “قام المدربون والعسكريون الإيرانيون بتدريب وإدارة عمليات إطلاق الطائرات بدون طيار التي دمرت المنازل والمتاحف والجامعات والمكاتب والملاعب الرياضية، والأهم من ذلك قتل الأوكرانيين، بمن فيهم الأطفال، الأطفال الذين حلموا أيضًا برؤية فريقهم الوطني في كأس العالم”.

واستمر: “يدعو نادي شاختار لكرة القدم فيفا والمجتمع الدولي بأسره إلى منع المنتخب الإيراني على الفور من اللعب في كأس العالم بسبب مشاركة البلاد المباشرة في الهجمات الإرهابية على الأوكرانيين”.

وأكد: “سيكون هذا قرارًا عادلًا يجب أن يلفت انتباه العالم بأسره إلى نظام يقتل أفضل أبنائه ويساعد في قتل الأوكرانيين، ويجب أن يتم شغل المكان الشاغر من قبل المنتخب الوطني لأوكرانيا، والذي أثبت أنه يستحق المشاركة في مونديال، ففي ظل ظروف غير متكافئة مع المنتخبات الوطنية الأخرى خلال التصفيات، لعبوا بقلبهم”.

واستمر: “هذا القرار له ما يبرره تاريخيًا ورياضيًا، أحث الجميع على الانضمام إلى الضغط على بيروقراطية كرة القدم، يكفي تكرار أخطاء كأس العالم 2018 في روسيا، والاختباء وراء الأطروحة الفارغة حول كون الرياضة غير مُسيسة”.

واختتم: “تسهيل مشاركة الإرهابيين في كأس العالم هو سياسة، حان الوقت لوضع حد لمثل هذه السياسة”.

ومن المقرر أن تواجه إيران إنجلترا في مباراتها الافتتاحية لكأس العالم يوم 21 نوفمبر، قبل أن تواجه ويلز والولايات المتحدة في المجموعة الثانية.
