    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The match was moved from Children's Mercy Park – Sporting's soccer-specific stadium – to accommodate the large audience expected for the contest against the Herons. Arrowhead Stadium holds over 76,000 persons, and a near sellout is expected for a record attendance for a soccer match in the city. The last time Sporting played at the venue was 2007 against the LA Galaxy – where Miami co-owner David Beckham was on the pitch for their opposition.

Despite it being a home match, plenty of Messi and Miami kits were visible ahead of kickoff.

    WHAT NEXT FOR INTER MIAMI?

The Herons will take on Nashville SC next weekend, looking to pull off a third-straight result against Gary Smith's side in 2024. Inter Miami pulled out a draw and a victory over two legs to knock them out in the Round of 16 of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

14 players to play for Chelsea and Tottenham

Rivalry is wilting. As time marches on, this opinion is held by more and more football fans and journalists.

Roy Keane and Graeme Souness are among those in recent memory to find fault in pre-match hugging and cross-city congeniality.

In their heyday, goodwill and sportsmanship in big games was inconceivable. Instead, two-footed, red card-worthy challenges were the only appropriate welcome gift when the blue of Everton or Manchester City sunk their boots into enemy soil.

The principles of an unfashionable but traditionally accepted school of thought that football is a 'man's game' meant also that the worst crime a footballer could commit in their salad days was to join a club's rivals.

So when Mauricio Pochettino decided against returning to Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, eyebrows were raised across the country, particularly in N17, when the Argentine instead took Chelsea's vacant helm.

However, he wasn't the first to make the switch from north London to west London, or vice-versa. In this article, Football FanCast takes a look at 14 of the best players to have played for both Chelsea and Tottenham, exploring their spells at both clubs and how their controversial transfers were viewed at the time.

Clive Allen

Spurs 1984-1988; Chelsea 1991-1992

Harry Kane may have become the club's all-time record goalscorer, but he'd have been hard-pushed to topple the record for goals in a single season – an incredible 49 set by Clive Allen in 1986/87. The last of those 49 was an early goal in the 1987 FA Cup Final.

Sadly for him, it wouldn't be a final that was won by Spurs. Instead, Allen's successes in north London were down to individual accolades – the Golden Boot and PFA Player of the Year.

Nonetheless, his time in white was far more burgeoning than in blue. At Chelsea, later in his career, he only featured occasionally.

Les Allen

Chelsea 1954-1959; Spurs 1959-1965

Another Allen, this time Les, joined Tottenham from Chelsea for £20,000 in December 1959, in a deal that took Johnny Brooks to Stamford Bridge.

The striker found life tricky in west London, only featuring 44 times, but with the Lilywhites, he scored 52 goals in his first 96 appearances for the club, including 27 in their double-winning campaign, forming a lethal partnership with Bobby Smith – the pair racked up 60 goals between them as they lifted the league title and FA Cup.

Arguably, it was the greatest strike partnership White Hart Lane had ever seen.

Carlo Cudicini

Chelsea 1999-2009; Spurs 2009-2012

Italian goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini played for Chelsea between 2000 and 2009 and made a respectable 216 appearances between the sticks before joining Tottenham, a side he was mostly benched for across three uninspiring seasons.

At times, he even stooped as low as fourth-choice before he would grow fed up and leave for LA Galaxy in 2012 after making just 12 appearances.

William Gallas

Chelsea 2001-2006; Spurs 2010-2013

Not only has William Gallas played for Chelsea and Tottenham, but the Frenchman also spent much of his career in the red of Arsenal. As an ultimate London journeyman, the central defender is the first and last player to achieve such a daring feat in the Premier League era.

Starting his adventure in 'The Big Smoke' westerly at Stamford Bridge, Gallas developed partnerships with Marcel Desailly and John Terry in a squad that won back-to-back Premier League titles and a League Cup under José Mourinho's helmsmanship.

He played the best part of five years at Chelsea, but in 2006, after suggesting his wage demands weren't being met, he was included as part of the deal that saw Arsenal offload Ashley Cole in the opposite direction in return for the Frenchman's services transitioning to the Emirates Stadium.

It was later stated by the club that Gallas had threatened to score own goals if he was refused the right to leave the Blues, with the defender returning fire by saying the club 'lacked class' and 'lied' about such accusations.

Nonetheless, after a spell at Arsene Wenger's Arsenal, the same was said again about Gallas' ludicrous contract demands, and again he made himself a dislikable character after being stripped of the Gunners' captaincy.

Gallas eventually found solace just several doors up at White Hart Lane. Under Harry Redknapp, the Frenchman thrived in his dissolving years in the Premier League.

Most importantly for him, he made a full circle in London when he scored his first and only goal for Spurs against Chelsea in a 4-2 defeat in 2012/13 before being released at the end of that season.

Jimmy Greaves

Chelsea 1957-1961; Spurs 1961-1970

Noticeably, for the most part, there isn't too much hard feeling when players move between Chelsea and Tottenham. Jimmy Greaves is perhaps the greatest testament to that notion, with his playing days ensuring that he became an indomitable legend at both clubs.

Greaves began his career with the Blues and scored on his debut against Spurs. Another 131 goals followed during his time at the Bridge, and he became Chelsea's highest hat-trick scorer – with an impressive tally of 16 altogether.

Unfortunately, Chelsea's financial position forced Greaves into a premature departure after just four years at the club – but not before he scored another hat-trick in his final game, where the club also named him captain to honour his otherworldly escapades in attack.

The striker would play just 10 times for AC Milan, yet still managed to get on the scoresheet nine times before returning to London to ply his trade for Tottenham.

He marked his debut with another hat-trick against Blackpool at White Hart Lane. Furthermore, Greaves played in every round of Spurs' 1962 FA Cup win, scored the opener in the final over Burnley, and went on to become the club's highest-ever goalscorer with 266 goals (beaten only recently by Harry Kane).

Tottenham's best-ever number 10s (ranked)

Across 478 league games for Chelsea and Tottenham, Jimmy Greaves scored 344 goals, etching him into London football mythology.

Eiður Guðjohnsen

Chelsea 2000-06; Spurs 2010

Eidur Gudjohnsen is a name familiar with many, and at Chelsea, he attained legendary status as perhaps the greatest Icelandic player to have sparkled in the Premier League.

Making over 180 appearances in blue, he scored 54 goals between 2000 and 2006.

Following stints at Barcelona and Monaco, coastline jewels that further cemented his storied talents, the Iceland international joined Tottenham on loan in 2010, but he only made 11 appearances in a short period.

Neutrals might recognise the name and face from his role in the Icelandic side that reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 after putting Roy Hodgson's England to the sword.

Micky Hazard

Spurs 1978-85; Chelsea 1985-90

Micky Hazard was initially invited to train with Spurs when aged 14 and continued to have week-long sessions with the club until, aged 16, he moved to London to join the youth squad as an apprentice. Prone to bouts of homesickness, Hazard ran home six times during the next two years until finally settling at the club in 1978.

He is another who was part of the 1982 FA Cup run and the UEFA Cup-winning side in 1984 – with the latter featuring a Hazard spectacle when his crosses led to goals in both legs of the final against Anderlecht.

After five professional years in north London, he joined Chelsea in 1985 where he stayed for another five campaigns. His technical skills and eye for a pass became recognised in the West End. But often, Hazard was overlooked wherever he went, and so when he returned to Spurs at the end of his career under Ossie Ardiles, he pulled the curtains on a selfless episode in his life.

Glenn Hoddle

Spurs 1975-87; Chelsea 1993-95

While Gallas is the only player to have played for all three of London's most successful football clubs, Glenn Hoddle also sits in an exclusive club of his own. The Hayes-born football devotee is the only person to play and also manage both Chelsea and Tottenham.

Hoddle progressed through the Spurs youth system to become a club legend when his skill, vision and goals became a leading cause for the side's success in the 1980s. He won back-to-back FA Cups in 1981 and 1982, scoring the goals in the final and replay win over QPR.

Unlike with Gallas' move to the other side of London, Hoddle was, and still is, respected by blue and white. He moved to France in 1987 but returned to London six years later as player-manager of Chelsea, where he propelled the side to an FA Cup final, only to lose to Manchester United.

At Tottenham's helm, Hoddle experienced a pretty nondescript tenure, but he will always be remembered for his acts of service during his playing days.

Colin Lee

Spurs 1977-1980; Chelsea 1980-1987

Colin Lee, a bright-eyed and impressionable teenager in the mid-70s, joined Tottenham Hotspur in 1977 and left an everlasting impression from the start when he scored four goals on his debut in a 9-0 win over Bristol Rovers.

In the same year, he helped the Lilywhites to gain promotion back to the First Division. But upon flushing back into the second tier three years later, he signed for Chelsea for £200,000.

11 players Spurs should never have sold

With the Blues, Lee scored 36 times in 185 appearances in a West End show that pulsated between 1980 and 1987. He helped Chelsea earn top-flight consistency after securing the Second Division title in '84.

Scott Parker

Chelsea 2004-05; Spurs 2011-13

Scott Parker's Chelsea spell is hardly worth a mention. He was a part of the 2004/05 squad that won the Premier League under José Mourinho, but he only made four appearances, so he was denied any chance of a winners' medal.

The midfielder had such high hopes of a successful life at the Bridge after winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award with Charlton Athletic. However, still young, he struggled to nail down a starting spot, so left just a year after joining.

Following successful stints at Newcastle United and West Ham United, the Englishman joined Tottenham in 2011 for a believed fee of around £5.5m.

North of the River Thames, Parker was a roaring success, despite, again, not staying for long at White Hart Lane. In 2012, he was voted the club's Player of the Year before polishing his Tottenham tenancy a year later, having made 63 appearances for the club.

Chelsea, Man Utd & Liverpool eye pre-contract for "incredible" 12-goal star

Chelsea could be set to make an ambitious pre-contract approach in the January transfer window as Mauricio Pochettino aims to strengthen his squad, according to reports.

Chelsea transfer updates…

Undoubtedly, Chelsea have been one of the more active clubs in England regarding player recruitment over the last couple of years and it looks as if the west Londoners have no sign of reversing that trend once the market opens for business in the New Year.

Strengthening the Blues' forward line has become a priority for Pochettino in recent times, and one potential recruit in January could be Brentford striker Ivan Toney, whose Premier League experience would appeal at Stamford Bridge, according to transfer expert Dean Jones.

Former Chelsea defender Glen Johnson has had his say on Toney potentially arriving in SW6 while also touching on links between the England international and Arsenal, stating to Betfred via The Daily Express: "I believe Chelsea need him more and he would suit the way they play. Chelsea are clearly planning for the future and they’re continuing to build, but Arsenal are competing right now so it all depends on who Ivan believes will be competing for trophies more in the next five years."

This term, Chelsea summer signing Nicolas Jackson has notched six goals in his opening 13 appearances for the club, though the Blues have scored the second-fewest number of goals in the top half of the Premier League table, which looks to have prompted Argentinian coach Pochettino to enter the market to bolster his options in the final third.

Armando Broja is the only other recognised striker on the books at Stamford Bridge and has had to deal with a string of injury problems which have disrupted his rhythm, leading the Albania international to net once in four outings across 2023/24.

Chelsea eye audacious Kylian Mbappe move

According to FourFourTwo, Chelsea could launch an ambitious pre-contract proposal for Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, with his current deal at the Ligue 1 giants expiring in the summer of 2024.

Manchester United, Newcastle United and Liverpool are also keen to test the waters to see if they can tempt the 24-year-old to England. Reports from Spain indicate that long-time suitors Real Madrid have pulled out of the race to sign Mbappe; nevertheless, his future remains unresolved and prone to new developments that could alter the situation's landscape entirely.

Labelled "incredible" by Didier Deschamps, Mbappe has been his usual self in front of goal this campaign, notching 12 strikes and one assist in his opening 14 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain across all competitions (Mbappe statistics – Transfermarkt).

Now at a crossroads at the Parc des Princes, Mbappe will have a huge decision on his hands over the coming months as he evaluates his next career steps.

  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

Fans also think Dortmund's triumph means Sancho has won his own battle with Ten Hag after being exiled by the Manchester United boss and then offloaded on loan.

Manchester United fan account @UnitedRadar wrote on X: "Jadon Sancho has reached the semi-finals with Dortmund. This must be horrendous for Ten Hag."

Another supporter @ReadItSaidIt, added: "Congratulations to Jadon Sancho for going further in the champions league than 'best signing since Cantona' bruno fernandes and Ballon dor rashy have ever gone."

Sancho is not the only ex-Manchester United player in the semi-finals, as pointed out by @BendIt7ikeBecks: "Sancho and Sabitzer in a CL semi final. This club hasn’t been in one since 2011. Ronaldo has 36 goals this season. Bruno, Rashford, Garnacho, Hojlund have 29 goals. De Gea conceded 43 goals last season. Onana 48 goals conceded 6 games to play. Erik Ten Blag."

Another supporter, @TJayyyy_1, highlighted United's lowly Premier League position: "Sancho & Sabitzer helping their team to the UCL SF, somewhere United haven’t been since 2011. Then you’ve got ETH rotting in 7th."

And @WelBeast showed how Sancho might just be feeling right now regarding Ten Hag, posting the famous 'I won' meme from hit TV show Breaking Bad on X with the caption: “Jadon Sancho is heading to the Champions league semifinals while Eric Ten Hag is sat at home unsure of whether or not he'll still have his job at the end of the season."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Sancho's success comes at a time when Ten Hag's position as manager is under pressure after a disappointing campaign. The Red Devils are currently down in seventh place in the Premier League table but a distant 13 points behind Aston Villa in fourth. However, there is still a chance the Red Devils could finish the season with a trophy as they remain in contention in the FA Cup.

Farke could unleash Leeds’ academy star who’s more creative than Piroe

Leeds United are known for unearthing the next generation of stars from their academy.

Throughout their history, the Whites have crafted a long-lasting legacy of facilitating the development of talent through their youth systems.

The likes of Gary Speed, James Milner and Jonathan Woodgate began their careers in West Yorkshire before becoming heroes in the Premier League.

In recent times, the level of talent coming off the conveyor belt at Thorp Arch has shown no signs of slowing down, as emphasized by the emergence of Kalvin Phillips, while 17-year-old Archie Gray, who has starred across 15 appearances at right-back this term, has used the club's relegation as an opportunity to impress Daniel Farke.

Leeds United midfielder Archie Gray.

The teenager's performances have caught the eye of several European powerhouses, including Liverpool and Dortmund, with Leeds slapping a £40m price tag onto his head.

16-year-old Harvey Vincent is another youngster vying for a spot in the first-team after impressing for the under-18s.

Harvey Vincent's Leeds statistics

The 2007-born teenager, who can operate on the left or right wing, caught the eye as a 15-year-old operating in the under-18 side last term.

Despite playing in an age group higher, Vincent didn't look out of place, scoring three times and supplying one assist in 15 appearances.

The youngster also impressed with his positional flexibility, showing he's equally effective as a right winger cutting onto his left peg and operating the side of his strong foot.

Vincent’s assist against Man City highlighted his strengths as a right winger. He received the ball on the right-hand side and beat the City left-back before cutting the ball back to Cian Coleman, who applied the finish.

Having shown glimpses of his talent last season, he's carried the best of his form across to this campaign and as things stand, is the second top scorer in the under-18 squad with three goals in seven matches, behind only winger Marley Wilson and striker Leyton Brown – four each.

With two assists to add to his repertoire, the talented youngster has showcased his strength as a creator, supplying his teammates in the 4-1 victory over Liverpool and the 4-3 defeat against Sunderland.

When marrying those exploits against attackers in the Leeds first-team side, the 16-year-old has outperformed forward Joel Piroe in the creative department.

Joel Piroe's 23/24 statistics

Piroe has been one of the most lethal strikers in the Championship across the past few campaigns having posted 41 goals in 91 appearances for Swansea City in the second tier prior to his move to Leeds in the summer.

A clinical finisher by trade, the devastating Dutchman would have expected to lead the line for Leeds, however, in the absence of a recognised attacking midfielder, he's been utilised as a number 10 under Farke.

Despite being given more creative responsibility for the Whites, dropping deeper in the attacking phase, the 24-year-old has only supplied one assist this term, which is one less than the total accrued by Vincent.

That said, Piroe has still been able to showcase his incredible finishing from a deeper position, as highlighted by the fact he's the club's joint-top scorer with six goals in 13 appearances.

With a congested fixture schedule to come over the Christmas period, plucking a youngster from the youth setup isn't out of the question for Farke, who could drop Vincent into the deep end, as he did with Gray.

Lange "ready" to move for "very strong" new Spurs centre-back target

Tottenham are ready to rival a top club and sign an exciting new centre-back who's even been likened to Arsenal star William Saliba.

Lange chases new Spurs defender

After recruitment meetings in the last week, new sporting director Johan Lange has reportedly identified a left-sided defender as one of Tottenham's main priorities for the January window.

This comes after centre-back Micky van de Ven sustained a hamstring injury in the 4-1 defeat to Chelsea earlier this month, with defensive partner Cristian Romero also suspended right now. Ange Postecoglou has been forced to play both Ben Davies and Emerson Royal as the centre-back pairing most recently, with Spurs' head coach seemingly not having any faith in Eric Dier.

Tottenham have been linked with the likes of Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly and Crystal Palace Marc Guehi, while other options are finding their way on to Spurs' list of January targets fairly regularly.

Centre-back is a position Spurs quite simply need to reinforce, with former defender Alan Hutton backing them to make a "top signing" in the winter window recently.

“It’ll be very interesting to see who they bring in, and I think it will happen, a top signing, for sure," said Hutton to Football Insider in mid-Novemberm, commenting on Tottenham's links to Kelly.

"They do need defensive reinforcements as we’ve seen after a number of injuries. They look thin at the back so it’s something they will look at. Kelly’s got lots of experience in the Premier League.

“He’s a good size, good with his feet and ticks a lot of boxes. He’s somebody they’ll have an eye on but I’m sure there’ll be lots of players that are working hard in the background to see if they can make the squad better.”

Spurs eyeing Jean-Clair Todibo

Now, according to The Evening Standard and journalist Nizaar Kinsella, Tottenham are "ready to rival" Liverpool in the race to sign Jean-Clair Todibo.

Indeed, Spurs have joined the race for Todibo as they prepare to sign another defender in January. He'll apparently cost around £39 million to prise away from current club Nice, where he has seriously impressed in Ligue 1.

Nice defenderJean-Clair Todibo.

The France international is apparently keen on a move to the Premier League as well, with Man United also in the hunt for his signature amid their desperation for another centre-back.

Todibo, interestingly, has been likened to Arsenal star Saliba in playing style by Football Transfers, while former Bayern Munich defender and Brazil star Dante called him a "very strong" player.

“Of course, we would like Todibo to stay," said Dante when speaking in a recent press conference (via Football Transfers).

"But it can be complicated. We have to wait to see who will want to buy him and if everyone finds himself there. He is a leader, a very strong player mentally, he has improved a lot and he is ready to reach the very top level."

Still just 23-year-old, Todibo would have many years to justify his price tag at Spurs, but it remains to be seen whether he'd be willing to compete with van de Ven or Romero as the starting centre-back.

Potter began his coaching career at Swedish side Ostersunds, where he was able to take them from the fourth tier to the top division in five years. From there, he had one season at Swansea, before joining Brighton in 2019 – where he turned them from a Premier League relegation candidate to a top 10 side over three seasons. Nottingham Forest could unleash a surprise to replace Taiwo Awoniyi

Nottingham Forest are a club that has spiralled down the Premier League table following a disastrous run of form.

The Reds made a promising start to the season after beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge while running the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United close.

However, that promising start has since turned into a nightmare with the Tricky Trees picking up just one win from their last nine matches; only bottom-dwellers Sheffield United and Burnley have accumulated fewer points during that period.

To make matters worse, top scorer Taiwo Awoniyi is facing a significant spell on the sidelines after undergoing groin surgery with Steve Cooper confirming last week that he could be out for several months.

The towering Nigerian, who has plundered 14 of their 54 goals in the top flight since his arrival from Union Berlin, is going to be a huge miss as the focal point in the front line.

Chris Wood deputised in the 3-2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion and although he has the Premier League pedigree to be a worthy replacement, Cooper could now unleash academy star Ateef Konate into the first-team.

Ateef Konate's youth statistics

22-year-old, Konate has gradually risen through the youth ranks at the City Ground but is at an age now where he needs to be playing regular first-team football.

Despite being subjected to interest from several Championship clubs in January, he instead joined League One side Oxford United, where he only featured five times in the second half of the season.

Whilst it didn't work out in the third tier, an unproductive loan spell isn't the makings of a youngster's career and the Frenchman has proven that he's a clinical scorer in Forest's underage groups.

With a return of 19 goals and ten assists in 43 appearances for Cooper's U21 side, Konate has shown he's a cut above players his age and now has to replicate such form in the senior setup.

What Konate could bring to Nottingham Forest

Hailed by journalist Josh Bunting as "very impressive", the clinical striker has struck three goals in seven Premier League 2 appearances this term, including a brace last time out against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Clearly an exciting talent, he was praised as a "very talented individual" by one of his youth coaches, Dave Rogers, after swooping the Player of the Month award for his division last season.

He said: “He’s scored some fantastic goals for us, but he brings so much more to the team than just finding the back of the net.

"He’s a threat for the opposition whenever he plays, and he has also added a real desire and work ethic off the ball too which is an area of improvement we asked of him. We now hope he can continue to progress from here because he’s a very talented individual.”

As demonstrated by Man United unleashing 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo into the first-team, young players can often thrive when thrown into the deep end and perhaps Cooper could use that as inspiration to unearth the striker.

Couple that with the fact Wood has only scored three goals this term, there's every reason to believe that taking a risk on Konate could pay off in the long run, even if it is just regular minutes off the bench to begin with.

In truth, a replacement for Awoniyi needs to be found as a matter of urgency, with Cooper set to save the club millions by looking to the academy set-up for a worthy solution.

Liverpool injury news: Latest updates on Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk, Conor Bradley & Co. plus expected return dates

The Reds' injury issues have eased considerably over the past few weeks but some players are unlikely to ever play for the club again…

Liverpool paid a heavy price for competing on four fronts for so long this season, with the Reds plagued by a plethora of fitness problems in recent weeks and months. Indeed, Jurgen Klopp had to put his faith in Academy graduates during the stunning Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

Of course, the kids came up trumps, helping the Reds claim a famous 1-0 win at Wembley despite being shorn of so many regular squad members and certain starters but injuries have since taken their toll and fatigue has become a major issue during the conclusion of the campaign.

After a shock FA Cup quarter-final loss to Manchester United, Liverpool were eliminated from the Europa League by Atalanta in painfully tame fashion before seeing their Premier League title bid derailed by dismal defeats, at home to Crystal Palace and away to Everton, and a draw at West Ham.

So, which players are still sidelined? Who might return before the end of the season? And who may never play for the club again? GOAL runs through Liverpool's injury list below…

    Virgil van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk played all 90 minutes of the disappointing draw with West Ham at the London Stadium but picked up a minor knock that prevented him from training for the majority of the week.

However, Klopp has now revealed that the Dutch defender could "probably" do some "parts of team training" on Friday, meaning Van Dijk could lead the team out against Spurs on Sunday.

    Diogo Jota

Given Liverpool's inability to take their chances, the loss of Jota so soon after his long-awaited return to action arguably killed off any hope the Reds had left of winning the league. The Portuguese netted in the 3-1 win at Fulham but was then ruled out for two weeks with a minor injury.

“I cannot really say a lot about it, to be honest," Klopp said ahead of the Merseyside derby. "Before a game where he didn’t start, he got a knock – normal challenge, then felt a little bit at the hip. That was then fine because we didn’t start him, brought him on, that was alright.

“Then he started the last game (against Fulham), was obviously OK and then with the finish… it’s a small one but we are late in the season, so obviously now it’s not a great moment for each injury. But it’s not a big one. Actually, it’s pretty much nothing but enough to not be available."

Indeed, Jota won't feature against Tottenham but should return against Aston Villa on May 13.

    Conor Bradley

Bradley was forced off shortly after half-time in the shock loss to Crystal Palace at Anfield. "[He] overstretched the ligaments, not serious-serious but serious enough that he's not [able to play]," Klopp explained last week.

"I think Ryan Gravenberch had a similar thing," the manager added, alluding to the Dutchman's injury in the Carabao Cup final. "So, first week of May, [Bradley] should be back in training."

Klopp was spot on, with the Northern Irishman in contention to make the bench for this weekend's game against Spurs.

    Stefan Bajcetic

Bajcetic was one of the few bright lights of an otherwise dark 2022-23 season before his campaign was cut short by an adductor problem. The Spanish teenager took far longer than expected to get back to full fitness and then, when he did, he was sidelined by injury again related to growing pains, meaning the No.6 has still only made two appearances this term – both of which came at right-back.

However, Bajcetic could yet feature for the first team before the end of the season, having made his long-awaited return to action on April 12, playing 30 minutes in an Under-21s game against Manchester United.
